shouts 'til his throats sore (saw),takes the saw and cuts the box in half, puts the halves together to make a whole (hole) which he puts in the wall and climbs out. Then screams till his voice is hoarse (horse), gets on the horse and rides away!

The Dog said exactly what I was going to say, so I'll just state that I knew the answer and give the dog a good rating, coz he is right!
I heard this many years ago and never forgot the answer- my mom used to give us riddles like this too exercise our brains.

Lor - haven't heard this one in over 40 years and yer first answer was right - took me down memory lane I'll say. Used to read things like this in elementary reading lessons. Great stuff.
