Yeah, I did. I went to Value Village and bought a used wedding dress. (It was really pretty and tasteful, no big puffy sleeves or ugly lacy things) I bought it to prove a point to my boyfriend at the time. He thought that we were forever. Then he saw me in the dress all done up (hair and nails) and totally freaked out. Needless to say, we were forever for about another week. "The dress made him realize the seriousness of our relationship" I, myself, realized, that I don't see myself walking down an aisle with him. That dress saved us from ourselves.

no....what a waste of money and kind of ruins the fun of shopping for your dress when you are planning to get married....buy something else

No, because it's so expensive. However, I would have tried one on if the opportunity had presented itself before I got engaged. Did you see the Friends episode where they all take home dresses to try on? It was hilarious.

my sister did, she planned to get married, the guy just didn't seem to be as serious about it.

No but trying them on was fun! I definitley wasn't spending that kind of money just for the fun of it!!!

I pitched in half for my wife's - back in '88... It was beautiful, but wayyyyy too big for her... It had to be altered BIGTIME and I put in $500 for it... Since we have 3 beautiful daughters, it was one of the best investments I ever made...
