Like rain, sunshine, and wind hurricanes are part of the natural environment. If you took them away, other processes would be impacted. For example, they appear to help wetlands (see the reference).

I think hurricanes cleanse a huge air mass. Since people are dumping more pollutants in the air it is predicted Mother Nature will react by larger and stonger hurricanes as earth's natural mechanism to cleanse the air.
