In the UK, Vista Home BASIC edition is £180 - this is totally crazy. It makes computing a rich person's hobby. How are poor people supposed to find this kind of money? Microsoft wonder why people make pirate copies of Windows - go figure.
I believe computers and the internet must be available to ordinary people - at this price, how can that happen?
No wonder people are rushing to get Linux on their computers - at a cost of maybe $10 or $20, or nothing if you borrow your buddy's CD (which is allowed under the GPL).
