Type your number after your sentence. Highlight it. Go to Format, Font. Check "Superscript"

That is superscript. In Word to make text superscript or subscript, Select the text you want to format. On the Format menu, click Font, and then click the Font tab. Select the Superscript or Subscript check box. Be sure to uncheck the box when you are through.
