I was extremely sick for 2 weeks. It started out as a bladder infection, then kidney infection.. thenn I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. The antibiotics then gave me a yeast infection and it spread to my mouth causing huge white sores in my mouth and it hurt too bad to talk or eat. I lost 15 pounds from all of this and they still wouldn't give me the excuses for school.

*None of the doctors were ever able to cure my mouth. It lasted for 2-2.5 wks which had to clear up on it's own.

What can I do? My university needs them asap.

I saw a Dr. 5 times within this period, and excuses were only given for that day.

I don't see how they could refuse to give you an excuse, if you're just asking for documentation that you were under their care. How would they like it if you refused to pay for the same care?

If you're asking the doctors to say that you could not have attended class during those two weeks, then they must be disagreeing with you. Unless they told you to skip class and stay home, you were supposed to go to school. They're not going to give you an excuse after the fact for something they don't excuse.

All that said, I recommend you show your professors the receipts/reports from your doctor's appointments. That way, they will be able to see that you went to the doctor's office five times. I am a professor, and that would probably be enough for me, if you completed all the make-up work quickly and weren't asking for any special consideration.

It's very hard to understand why the doctor won't give an affadavit certifying that you were under his or her care for that period of time. Ask the doctor's receptionist how you can get this done. Sometimes you have to pay a fee, and that might be part of the problem. Failing that, you could photocopy the receipts for your visits and the receipts for the prescriptions and they might accept that.

Take a copy of your doctors bills from your office visits and the receipts from your medications. That should satisfy them. Or make a visit to your doctors office and stand their until they write you the back-to-school note your need.

first and foremost...so sorry...that seems like it really sucked...and just go to your doctor and say look i need a form for school or whatever it is...your in college right? when i first read the question i thought you were in like middle school...but if you need it THAT bad than blantly ask your doctor...you know i was really sick i need this signed...and if that doesnt work then well your doctor is a loser who has no compassion so then get a new doctor! but good luck! hope you feel well soon!

did you consult different doctors each time? if it was the same doctor, i think he's terribly insensitive and should not be patronized again. you could talk to your lecturer about your problem and isee if she can be understanding enough to think up something...

also, why not go to the hospital A & E--i think they should know the severity and give you more rest days--plus you got to tell them you've been to 5 doctors already and it got worse, not better...

hope this helps... take care, k? :)
