My gf of 5.5 months told me she doesn’t want a "serious relationship"; her def of that is seeing each other daily…we see each other 3 times a week usually. She’s very independent and needs time for her and her gf’s she says. I def don't want her def of a serious relationship either but my def of a serious relationship is when we become more emotionally attached and intimate, which I feel we have. She's told me she feels close to me and really likes me a lot but hasn't said the L word yet. Her best friend is really important in her life and she has recently started spending more time with her. Prob more time with her than me lately. It is starting to bother me since I'm supposed to be her bf. She's just started referring to me as her bf as well so I know she wants a relationship. Sometimes I think she's at that comfort zone where she feels she doesn't have to try and spend as much time with me but other times I don't know what to think.

You don't state your age so my best guess is she is still finding out who she is and who she wants to be. That's fine and perfectly normal. Teenagers do not get the concept of the differences between the sexes. Your g/f is always going to be more comfortable with her girl friends than you until your relationship goes to a much higher (and by that I do NOT mean physical) level. Guys try to analyze every situation (as you are doing here). Girls see emotion in every situation and do not see the space seperation as you do. You should feel glad that she is independent of you and being her own person. She is developing a definition of herself that she will possibly eventually share with you. You have nothing to worry about. You have the makings of an excellent girlfriend who will be confident in herself and confident in your trust of her to be herself. That provides her with security and that, my friend, leads to a STRONG relationship.

It's really simple. When you really, really like a person you don't care about **** like 'invading personal space.' There's no space involved because you two are ONE. She might not be that into you if she needs so much space. I'm sorry but I don't know how else to see it.

The perfect girl, somebody that loves you for you, would go out of there way to make time for you. She's just making excuses instead of telling you how she really feels.

Ditch the ***** and make the switch! lol just kidding. I mean yeah uh sorry dude. It looks like like she doesn't really respect you. =( And, it should bother you. You have a right to be clingy. If she can't be there for you emotionally, she can't be your girlfriend.

Talk to her and see if she places importance on your feelings.

If she's willing to compromise and do some things differently to spend more time with you then you've got a keeper.

If she argues about YOUR feelings and doesn't place any importance on them she isn't going to be a good partner. You would want to end it BEFORE you give your heart to someone who doesn't respect your feelings.

good luck.
