The gel shouldnt have damaged your hair but if u used to brush your hair with the gel in, it would cause you to pull harder which could why you have lost a lot of hair.
We lose about 100-200 hairs from our head per day but if you are losing a lot more than this, I suggest you see your GP. As you are only 20, you dont want this problem to get worse.
Other causes of hair loss could be stress or alopecia, both of which are treatable!
Good luck!

Hair gel drys your hair out and if you ever brush your hair when the gel has gone hard it will snap and break off badly try a different product

It's hard to give an answer to your question. It could be hereditary. I imagine that constantly putting a lot of chemicals on your hair or body is not a good idea. Look at the ingredients and avoid a product that has a lot of alcohol in the formula.

I am using hair gel for 3 years and nothing wrong ever happened to my hair. I think you need to change your shampoo or have a good treatment

It depends on the gel. If it has alcohol in it then it could have dried out your hair and of course dry hair becomes brittle and breaks off.

No, it wont be the gel it could be down to stress or some other underlying problem. Check with your GP. If it is down to stress then dealing with this problem with the help of the doctor should reverse the hairloss problem.

It depends on the gel, the styles and how you combed out after it was dried.
