I took a drug test Tuesday at 2:00PM. On Monday, I ate 2 80MG Oxycontin around 2:00PM. The drug test I took tests for 5 substances including Morphine. The Morphine line was visible, but was a little faint. The person who administered the drug test said he would send it out to the lab. After reading numerous articles I am slightly confused about what the results will be. Do they need to conduct a separate test to test for the presence of oxycodone? Even though the line was faint, assuming that the cutoff level was 300 nl/ml, is that was the GC/MG machine uses for a cutoff level as well? I really do not think they will issue a specific test of Oxycontin, I think they are only concerned with heroin use I also used a liquid flush as well, hoping that might help. Any idea on how the test will come back?

Of course it will. Oxycontin is a synthetic opiate (morphine analog). It is chemically, VERY similar to morphine, which is how it has its mechanism of action. So, of course it will cause a positive test.

Before Oxycontin came to the market Opiates 300 tests showed positives on large concentrations of Oxycontin in the system. Today Oxycontin tests widely available in urine and hair testing.

I hope you have a prescription so that they can't say boo about it. But otherwise, it does come back positive because it is a narcotic, very similar to morphine, heroin, codeine, etc... So the lab is going to find it. I don't know aout the cut off level, but if it was that faint, i wouldn't be too worried.

Oh, yes...........It is going to come back (+). You answered your own question."The Morphine line was visible, but was a little faint." Any color on those types of assays are (+)....
Cut off for Oxycontin is 30,000 ng/mL.

i think if you are taking a drug test that they are concerned with all the drugs that are being tested. also, if you are taking drug tests maybe you should consider not taking drugs. wait scratch that, regardless of whether or not you are taking a drug test, you should consider not taking drugs....just say NO
