The course that Judas chose was a deliberate one, involving malice, greed, pride, hypocrisy, and scheming. He afterward felt remorse under the burden of guilt, as a willful murderer might at the result of his crime.
On the final night of his earthly life, Jesus himself said, about Judas: “It would have been finer for that man if he had not been born" he therefore, was old enough to be a mature adult, capable of making knowing choices and was justly codemned by Jesus, but his actual age is not given in the scriptures.
It would seem he died on the morning after his betrayal of Jesus in 33CE on Nisan 14th on the Jewish calander (which date varies each year on the western calander, usually between March and April)
Judas, when he sees that Jesus has been condemned, feels remorse.
So he goes to the chief priests and older men to return the 30 pieces of silver, explaining:
“I sinned when I betrayed righteous blood.”
“What is that to us? You must see to that!” they heartlessly reply. So Judas throws the silver pieces into the temple and goes off and tries to hang himself. However, the branch to which Judas ties the rope apparently breaks, and his body plunges to the rocks below, where it bursts apart.
