Adopt a grandparent. Many off the elderly are just dumped in homes. They would love to see a young face like that.

You'll have to look around the community because opportunities vary, but some general advice is to structure the activity so that the child actually sees you "giving", as in handing cookies to people in the breadline, rather than driving around town picking up coats for a charity drive. To the child, that is just like running errands. Let them see you in the act of sharing something, comforting someone, being a friend. Try the Senior Center in your area. Time spent reading to an elderly person will reap benefits as your child listens too. So be cheery and generous and your child will become the same! Blessings!

I volunteer at the public library reading to small kids. It's great cause I can take my son and he loves to hear the stories.

I would check out loclar Rotary Clubs. Rotary is an international world wide charity organisation. They usually have a wide varitety of events going on.
