well, im not sure if they are good or bad, but they work with gel! I went to a cheerleading competition and we used un-heated hair rollers. They really worked, our hair stayed curled for over 10 hours!!

My mother and her's both used them and I may be 4 or 5 times older than you (just a guess, but I bet you're a teenager). Mom still has her hair and my grandmother died of old age 30 years ago.

yes as your hair will not suffer from heat damage that can occur from using curling irons and heated rollers

Sponge rollers are safest. I use Velcro rollers but they pull a lot. Ever try steam rollers?

idk, but it doesn't sound like they would work very well. If they do, i'm sure it's not damaging.
