I'm not having a go at people who do, but personally i only post superficial and joke questions on here, if you had a real problem, like for instance, if you didnt trust your partner, would you actually seek the advice of strangers? I trust in the advice and opinions i get from my friends and family and go with my own instincts, I'm just interested...

I wouldn't post any of my problems here because there are too many insensitive people who will put you down.

My own experience is that the only way I can get a balanced, enlightened response to my personal issues is to write to Dear Dierdre or make yet another appearance on Jeremy Kyle!

What constitutes a REAL personal problem?

How to resolve a business issue if you are self employed might be a real personal problem. If you have no friends or family you feel you can trust. You might be very lonely and isolated and need to find a way of communicating with someone. Very sad are those who think it is only for entertainment and have no sense of wanting to help someone in trouble. Lucky are those who are popular and have lots of friends. One of my own children has real problems with relationships, I try to be there as much as possible, but I would not be upset if my kids came on here to seek some ideas about how to approach a certain situation from someone who had actual experience. It might be better advice than I could give from a theoretical view point. Drugs would be a case in point. I never tried any except ciggies and I managed to give them up 20 years ago.

General questions yes but not a serious health or relationship one - alot of the time you get such a variety of answers you end up just confused or worried (especially if it's a health thing) - that's just going on the ones I've read, I've never posted anything really serious. Variety is a good thing though so it can be helpful to get opinions from lots of different people. It can be interesting to find out peoples opinions on films, music etc and it's a great place to pass the time when you're at work!

Personally I wouldn't, but honey have you not been reading these questions, these people are off the chain asking about everything even things that are common sense. Some people don't have someone else to talk and confide in, so they depend on the Internet of all places to seek help, thats okay and all, for fun but to be serious, I advise people to truly seek help from the Tru answerer Jesus, he is the only way, he will lead you if you ask.

Not a chance! Why would a bunch of complete strangers know anything about me or those around me.

The questions people post on here are unreal. It would take a psychic to answer most of them:

Am I pregnant?
Does my boyfriend like me?
Will I get a raise?

Get real people. How can these questions possibly be answered with anything except an opinion or guess.

Yes I would.....one: because hopefully this site is pretty anonymous though if you were determined enough u might be able to extract more info about a person but who's that sad?
two: I'm a fairly open person anyway
three: I confide in close friends anyway but this acts as an extra sometimes
And no I don't mind telling you all that. MrD.

i am the same as you if you have a personal problem it should be sorted with the help and support of people you love and trust. not left up to strangers who havent got a clue about you this site in my opinion is for people to talk and have fun

well it would depend on the level of problem - i would ask lighthearted stuff and i have been tempted to ask a question that I'm struggling with but i don't think i could put all the relevant info in - the reason I'm tempted is because i don't know anyone on here and I'm never likely to meet anyone - and it would be something that i wouldn't necessarily talk to friends or family about - so therapeutic !!!

I might, but I wish Yahoo would separate the ages because if I posted a question I would want answers from adults over age 30, not 11 year olds answering.

sometimes outsiders give the best advice and at the end of the day its up 2 u what u do with that advice
someones elses opinion is always good and they may see something u dont
but its all about the person
