Regret is more painful than rejection, just keep that in mind.
If you really like her and u don't ask her out, u might regret it forever. There is a price to pay for everything, u have to just go through some things in life, if it turns out to be a yes, you'll learn to enjoy the rush and might even get addicted!

If you're walking out of work or class, just talk naturally about where you just were. Then just say "Hey, would you like to grab a soda/pop/coffee/whatever sometime?" Then you'll know.
I tried it once and it didn't work. Oh well, life goes on. My now-husband asked me out and I said an enthusiastic yes! Getting shot down is just a part of life. If you don't try, you'll never know!

u can say like "can we hang out together somewhere?" instead of "go out" because it's more friendly and tell her where and when before she said yes. So keep it natural and that u just want to talk about some things in life, and be sort of like a buddy with her. As u talk to her more, there'll be a point where you'll really have to go serious when u guys talk about your friendship, but only u know when. it's nicer to make friends first.

its usually not actual fear, but lack of creating the right opportunity to get her to say yes. then it's just awkward.
