Tell him you don't want to go out and that it is nice that he asked you but you are only planning on dating people that INTENSELY interest you in a "boyfriend" type way and he doesn't fit the bill.
Don't beat around the bush and try to spare his feelings, etc. in the long run it is better to be honest and up front. And truly, you should be glad he asked you--- it means you are a person who is desirable to be around and someone-- regardless of who it is---wants to date you. So, be flattered but to the point and tell him no thanks.

If you don't want to go out with him, you don't have to be mean, just thank him and tell him you aren't interested in him that way. You can put it nicely: "You're a really nice guy and you seem really smart, but I'm just not interested in having that kind of relationship with you." Good Luck!!

from the sound of your question, it sounds like you really like him. because if you didn't, you wouldn't be posting your question online. secondly, since you labeled him as a dork, it seems like everybody else has done so, too, and you don't want to be seen with him, even though you know you have the hots for him. or.. maybe you're tired of being single. (if that's the case, then i wouldn't get his hopes up) but if you do like him, go out with him. it's not like you're going to marry him the first day you go out with him.

At least here him out and remember that he has feelings - if you don't want to go out with him - tell him quickly and succinctly and avoid being rude to him - he has feelings as well!

My advice to u is if u dont like him well be honest to him but dont hurt his feelings thats not nice just be forward and say I dont like u and is not u is just that u not my type but we can be friends(if u want)!!
