Can the Brushed Metal or any other Metallic Contact paper be used as a kitchen backsplash?

I don't really care about the brand name. I just want to know if it can be used.

a backsplash is an area treated in such a way as to reduce the accumulation of water and/or grease...and to ease the removal of said...
your metallic paper would work behind a stove,, if it is not too close as to be affected by the heat of the stove
on your cabinets you would have to worry about the run off sliding down to the counter and getting into the cracks along the wall and counter,, so if you sealed that off real good then yes it would work fine as long as it was a good "heavy" duty paper

i dont know about the "paper" backed ones, but they sell lamanent (formica) in all metalic finishes.
