Depends on the bar and the shot glass they use: could be 1 oz or 1.5 oz.

Sure why not. I mix it with triple sec or any orange liquer like Gran Marnier ( same amount ) and a sweet n sour mix. A little squeeze of fresh lime. Hey, its not even the weekend yet, you startin' early? Well then, have a shot for me! As a matter of fact I'm going to make me one also! Salute!

A 'Shot' is one ounce. A 'house standard' may be more. A shot is a shot is a shot is a shot - ONE ounce. Some establishments over pour because they know most patrons will want more than the one ounce. State law is based off of an ounce - shot.

There are shot glasses in each increment. There are pour spouts for every increment. There are jiggers in each increment. There are 'automatic' pours that can be configured to pour how ever much in any increment.. It all ultimately falls to what the bartender pours. But a 'shot' is still an ounce.

1 oz, a serving of hard liquor is one ounce...sometimes shot glasses are larger but most bars make sure that they are only an ounce so that they can portion control their liquor and get the most profit from one bottle.
