I guess I never thought about it. Does it matter? I pray daily and I think of Jesus or the Lord as a superior being and therefore not as a person of any color. Jesus seems to be above all the things down here on earth.

Of course he was. Given the place he lived, and the climate in which he lived, and the fact that he was out of doors so much of the time, he would have been deeply tanned, just as people who live there today are. European painters turned him into a blond with fair, white skin, because they didn't know anyone who didn't look like that.

Jesus was born a Jew, so he probably would have had olive skin and dark hair, many of the pictures we see that depict how he look can not be right, some have him with light skin and blue eyes, as all people born back in that day and in that country would have been dark skinned with dark hair and eyes.

He was probably neither black nor white. He was middle-eastern and likely looked like modern day Palestinians. Look for example at pictures of men from Egypt up until the time of Christ - they are brown.
You can also look a the Jewish diaspora - European Jews are likely high in European blood --- but if you look at Jews who stayed near the area, like the Yemenite Jews, you might get an idea of what Israelis might have looked like 2000 years ago.
I think he probably would have had black or dark brown hair, dark eyes and tan skin.

He was Jewish- yes He probably had like a tan that was always there from always being outside- but He was definitely Jewish. The Bible is ALL too clear about that point.

of course he was - he was born in Jerusalem - a WARM & SUNNY climate - the characteristic of the people who lived there were of DARK skin. Im not saying he was the blackes man you've ever seen, but he didnt have long straight hair - his hair had curls in it, and he was on the darker end of a medium tone complexion - and could you all please stop illustrating him as some skinny man - I don't think a CARPENTER from their time was some stringy guy. Woodworking without machines requires muscle - and they didnt have lumberjacks to get the wood for them. so who do you think got it for them? they did.
