Or is there another even cooler drink than either of those?

Gin and tonic is far cooler than a vodka martini. Everyone thinks martinis are the height of cool, which makes it just a classic trend. On the other hand, a gin and tonic tastes great, and it's so ironic it's independently and uniquely cool. Buck the fashion, drink G&Ts.

Vodka martini makes you seem like you think you are James Bond (which is only cool if you are Bond). Gin and tonic is a cool drink for pensioners... a lot of old ladies enjoy it.
Personally I like a nice cup of tea, or a tasty real ale.

If you are trying to find a drink that makes you look cool, I would suggest finding one that tastes good too!

I hate gin and martinis can be bitter...

I like the flavored Stoli over ice - no nasty vermouth or salty olives...

Martinis are very elegant looking. As long as drinking them does not turn you into a jerk. A Cosmo is very pretty.

What's "cooler" is drinking WHAT you actually LIKE without having to worry about "labels" and if they make you a "look" cool or not.
