Nope, Tony is by far the best right now.
And just because he didn't make the chase this year doesn't mean that he isn't the best driver. It just means he had some bad luck, and he still only missed it by 16 points!! Jeff and Jr missed it in 05, everyone has a bad year. Though I wouldn't even think of classifying Tony's year as bad, he still led the most laps out of all the drivers this year, got 5 wins, and scored the most points in the chase!!
Tony Stewart, the 2007 Nextel cup champion!!

Bill Elliott raced for 33 years and then retired in 04. He just started racing again as a part time driver. He set and broke well over half of NASCAR'S records. He had the fastest speed ever of 213.569 mph and he had made the most money for the amount of time he had been racing, (he still is counting). He has made more than 75,000,000 dollars and his racing vibe was unbelievable! He even went six years without sponsers and was his own racing team! That isn't possible anymore. He has won the NASCAR most popular driver award 18 consecutive times. That is more than anyone else has ever won. It has been decided by Nascar that the award will be called the Bill Elliott award after he fully retires. He has taken over 45 Cup wins and I mean you really have to work hard to get a nickname like Awesome Bill from Dawsonville and Million Dollar Bill. Bill Elliott is a Legend with Richard Prtty, Earnhardt, and Darrell Waltrip. He is truly amazing!

There are extremely a team of motives. a million.) He has extra suitable kit with chevy 2.) He might join Stewart Haas Racing however the hendrick drivers evaluate him considered one of there very own and the bigger the race team the extra drafting companions you have. 3.) At Joe Gibbs he had an above usual team yet now he has a great All star team. 4.) final twelve months he crashed alot yet this twelve months he's been fending off each and all of the crashes. and 5.) This twelve months he's have been given adventure and he has extra help. And on your 2d question i'm ninety 5% beneficial that he will win the championship. extremely the only way he would not win a championship is that if he completely messes up and Jimmie/Jeff win 2 or 3 extra races. it extremely is achieveable yet no longer likely.

Looking at it from that point of view, Stewart was the best during the last ten races. Under the new point system, there were ten drivers that made the chase when Stewart didn't. Under the old classic point system, Stewart would have finished fourth. So, it all depends on how you look at it. One thing that is definitely fact--the point system is flawed and Stewart proved that during the last ten races.

In personality----yes there are a lot of better drivers than Tony. I don't know if there are any better drivers racing wise, but he is a good driver, I can't deny that. I'm certain he'll be back in the Chase next season.

I think taht Tony's best year will be next year. He's actually getting in shape, he's got a woman. He's bound to calm down and show the focus for a whole season. THat's a scary thought for any other NASCAR team.
Could he win 25 or 30 races in a season?
