As *gasp* controversial as it may sound, this is what we got when we shove the perfect and flawless ideals of democracy and "freedom" down a country's throats. [For those of you slower than others, Iraq is proof that they are not] Saddam kept the country stable if anything, so all you human-rightsers think about this:

Are human rights worth having a country spiral into a state where hundreds are being killed each day? Isn't one not-too good dictator that keeps his country from descending into civil war and having thousands dead and hundreds of thousands fleeing the country better?

Saddam certainly was no Mother Theresa, but I'd like to see someone deny that there was certainly a better way to deal with Iraq, aka the biggest unpunished "mistake" ever.

Even the corporate news alluded to about 120 Iraqis dying each day, so your number sounds in line with that. Sounds more like genocide to me.

Sunni vs Shia. It's pretty bad with no end in sight. With the fall of Saddam a lot of old grievances are being settled between people & clans. It's something that the West does not understand.

Many muslims are being killed by fellow muslims because of sectarian violence. I think this is the cause of the most bloodshed in Iraq at the moment. Because different sects of muslims don't agree with each other.
