We aren't eating turkey today. We will celebrate thanksgiving tomorrow when our son comes home from Iraq.
You look great in that dress, Endora.
Happy Turkey Day,
PG

Wow, another scholar who thinks the movie "seven" is true.
Before you make yourself look foolish again, you should really try to understand what gluttony meant. Basically it was talking about living a lifestyle of indulgence like the Romans did or like many movie and rock stars do today. It wasn't talking about overeating although that comes with the lifestyle.
Although gluttony doesn't appear anywhere in the King James Version, it is translated as that in the NIV in Proverbs 23. If you would take time to read it, you would understand what it was talking about.
Only a fool judges a matter before they understand it.
Proverbs 18:13
He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him
People like you are ridiculous. You try to accuse Christians of sinning when you don't even understand what the sin is. Then you have the nerve to try and use the Word of God against us when you don't understand that either.
Satan tried the same thing with Jesus which didn't work either.
Go away and play with your heathen friends. Go accuse them of something and leave us alone. Because you really sound foolish with the lack of wisdom which spews out of your heathen mouth.
The contempt in your heart oozes out and sickens me.

I don-t do that any more - no credit to me, I just am not as tempted now.
However I believe gluttony is more a style of life than overeating in one feast. I look at certain Bible passages concerning special feasts, and I get the impression that it was considered to be quite alright to go "whole hog" on a special occasion. Of course if you eat so much you feel sick, you are spoiling your own fun.
Gluttony is a life style of living for what you'll eat next. Someone who is a slave to chocolates, or to desserts, or to junk food. Who is continually eating to the point of stretching their stomach lining.

What's wrong with Thanksgiving? What's wrong with giving thanks for all the blessings God has bestowed upon you, and then eating some food in the honor of blessings and the USA?
Just because you eat doesn't mean you're sinning. You go without eating and give me a call if you're not dead in a few weeks.

How many Christians fall for the sin of gluttony? Oh, about the same number as the heathens....we're not perfect, just forgiven! ;-)

I managed to keep the feeding frenzy to a pleasantly satiated level followed by a brisk 2 mile walk.

Ahh, I had a good Thanksgiving meal...and I was careful to thank God for all of my blessings...and, yes, I over-ate a bit. (Well, OK, maybe more than just a bit...sheesh!) Afater all...it's sort of expected.
I plan to bribe St. Peter with some of my special egg nog pie...
shhh...don't tell...and I'll let you have some, too!!

Thanksgiving is not the cause of gluttony, greed is and it doesn't need a holiday to manifest itself.

I won't go to hell for gluttony, cause I'm going to get saved in a Baptist church, and then a little sin won't hurt, as long as it isn't a cardinal sin.
