You have to go to the demartologist. Some fungus are so strong that may require daily application of anti-fungal creams to keep them away. And...

* Avoid wearing shoes indoors and consider wearing open footwear when appropriate.
* Change shoes daily – alternate between at least 3 pairs of shoes, allowing time for shoes to dry out.
* Change socks midday if socks become damp.
Avoid high top boots unless needed for work or other activities.
• Consider applying powder to feet daily before putting on socks because excess moisture promotes the growth of bacteria and fungi.

You sound like you really need a doctor.
If you had less severe a problem, get a bottle of full strength Listerine (original) and a plastic shopping bag with no little holes in it. put your foot in the bag and pour in enough Listerine to cover your toe. Now watch at least a half hour of TV while your toe soaks in the Listerine.

For me it got the stuff that worked on the stuff the regular fungus meds didn't take care of.

If your foot is purple, I'd be concerned about circulation issues.

However, assuming your foot has a healthy blood supply, foot fungus, or 'athlete's foot' is easily sorted with a multitide of creams and powders from any chemist.

If however you are just asking a daft question for the sake of it, then I hope your foot does fall off!

Best regards

Buy some "Mycil" from the chemist, it is specially made for athletes foot what it sounds like you have got. Wear cotton socks, not nylon, and wear leather shoes not trainers. They make your feet sweat and that makes it worse. Dry them properly between toes, when you have washed them.

Make sure your feet stay clean and dry; you can apply lamisil or some other aniti-fungal (prescription if needed.) Keep clean, white cotton socks available to change into and ALWAYS wear flip flops or other things on your feet when in public places.

Tea tree oil or Daktarin but only use it if you are not pregnant. I would be concerned about the purple though, maybe your shoes or socks are too tight.
