Residential area in California, real wild turkeys.Family of about 8 full grown turkeys walk around the nieghborhood every day; for the last three months; don't know where they came from; we have deer too, so I guess they come from the same place, up the hill. I want to kill and eat them all, but not get arrested for hunting without a licence nor using a firearm in a residential area? Any ideas?

I remember a story from a few years back about a guy in a nearby town who shot a deer with an arrow and was heavily prosecuted.

The only "legal" way I can think of is run over them, but it's really hard to run over a turkey, especially if they are watching. I've tried to run over a few, but they take off when they see a vehicle coming. I know it's possible to do, though, because I have seen several on the side of the road. I even cut a ten inch beard off of one.

They want you to feed them is all Evidently they have become friendly with someone that feeds them who may be some where down the road or something and now every time they see someone walking they will approach them asking for food. I wish I could get that on video of all the people running away from them when they approach LOL Bring some deer corn and throw it out to them and have some fun watching them squabble over it Other thing could be they have a roost going there right next to your driveway If a bunch of toms come running out all ruffled up they may be protecting the roost of hens they have going back in the brush next to the driveway WOW I wish I lived there I would be eating wild turkey every night of the week LOL Be like, Hi honey I'm home, Oh and I shot another turkey on my way up the driveway so we have two in the freezer now LOL

Well theoretically, I'd leave a trail of feed into a building where I could trap, snare or electrocute them. Or wait for them with your car. Disposing of the remains will be touchy because there are a lot of nosey people out there who will get upset if they see you putting out a bag of turkey feathers and fresh guts. I have to drive several miles away to hunt deer but can't do anything about the ones who ravage my garden here in town, so I know how you feel.

Blowgun would be my choice
Shuriken work too
A good Katana will take down an adult turkey real nice
Otherwise, go down to a police station and ask about the city policy on turkeys and whatnot.

That person has a point. Catch the turkey then well... beat it to death.
Or lure them to your property and use the gun... if law permits that in Cali.
