how old are you? that's an important factor which you should've included in your question. I agree with anon tom, it's all about age, and i think if youre twelve it wouldn't be a serious relationship anyway, it would be a kiddy one. maybe he is using the fact that you are younger as an excuse to turn you down, coz maybe he just doesn't really like you. don't be upset if that's the case, it happens to all of us!

If you are under 18 and he's over, that would make a lot of sense, he doesn't want to get you or himself in trouble.
If this is not the case though, then you should ask him out for something innocent, like some coffee or a movie, you know, not an actual date, but a way to chat or spend some time together. The more you talk to him and get to know him, and he gets to know you, the more clear it will become whether this relationship is going to go anywhere.
Good luck.

Find out if he likes you or not. Make him jealous. Set your alarm on your cell phone to go off when you know you'll be with him. When the alarm goes off, pretend you are talking to a new guy you just met.Make it soud good, but not too good.Make the conversation last about 2 min. Say a lot of yes's and MMMMM's. When you hang up with your new phantom boyfriend, see how the real guy reacts. If he starts asking a lot of questions about this new guy, then you have succeeded.

It's obvious he's shy why don't you make the move and talk to him about you'll never know if neither of you talk to one another about it. So try it. I think 3 years is way too long to be waiting for something to happen if he doesn't make any sort of move on you then maybe it's showing you that it's not meant to be. Because if he liked you like he said that he does then he would of made a move already. Think about it.

I think it depends on how old each of you are. If you are 12, he's right. The difference between 12 and 14 is alot. If you are 15, then it isn't.
If he is an adult, 18, and you are a child, 16, that also is very different (and depending on your state could be problematic).

clearly you have not read what i consider to be the equivalent of a BIBLE for ALL ladies...HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU...THREE WHOLE YEARS? PLEASE. I think that he's already given you an answer, you're just refusing to HEAR it.
When a guy is not going out of his way to get you and you have known him for three years... he's probably RUNNING in the OPPOSITE direction... take it from some-one who's been there.
Alternatively, you can ask him out yourself and put yourself out of all this misery.
Whatever you decide I wish you well.

I'm having dis same probs but he doesn't say i'm 2 young. He says he is protecting me against sometin i know later. I truly like him and wats annoying is wen he askes my friends if he cld see them again. I know he likes me so much but he is too difficult.
I guess we just have 2 wait till they r convinced they really like us. But i have decided i'ld go out wit any other guy i like more than him, dats if there is any.
