First off let me say I have been divorced now for 13 years. I didnt mind at first I rather enjoyed my new found freedom. But 2 years ago I found that I had some serious heart diease going on. I had open heart surgery a little over a year ago. but now at age 46 I find when ever I tell a woman that I will never work again, I never hear from her ever again. Am I destined to be alone for the rest of my life? Or should I hold out hope that someone may come along? New some advise here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if this solution will work for you, but it worked for some friends of mine. The problem lies with the type of woman you're trying to date. You want someone with some substance, personality, integrity, and character. You won't find that in a woman who looks like Barbie. You need to date fat girls, skinny girls, tall girls, short girls, plain girls, pretty girls, etc etc etc to find a woman who has the emotional strength to be with you.

My friend was bemoaning his loneliness too, but come to find out, he was looking at the hot chicks in the local bar. He didn't realize that he wasn't going to find emotional integrity at a bar. He just knew that hot chicks went there. He had to learn that he couldn't judge a woman by her appearance. Perhaps you need to learn the same thing.

Blessed be! :-)

Maybe you should try to find a job that keeps you off of your feet. You obviously have a computer, get started in an at home job online. Then you can make extra money and be able to help provide for that special someone when you do finally find her. The thing about your generation is that some of the women are still old-fashioned. They expect the man to work and support them. The generation under you are the women who want plastic surgery and diamonds from a man. I think it's ridiculous myself but it's true and most women won't go out with a guy who can't afford to pay for dinner.

The girl probably don't call back because you sound like a bumb someone who is never going to work again. when you meet someone get to know the woman a little better before you tell her something like that, that way they get to know you a little better and if she still leaves then she's not for you. someone will come along just make sure you're not to jumpy to get into a relationship because it takes a while to build a relationship. just go slow and don't worry the right person is there but your just trying to rush it.

Get your confidence back by dealing with the psychological impact of your heart issue. Have fun. Find someone who can accept this issue. There are too many women needing a good man. Never give up hope!

Do you think it's the fact that you won't work again, or do you think they may be afraid they will have too little time with you because of your heart condition? You will meet someone. you're relatively young. I hope you find someone a lot younger than you to keep you spry. Good luck. Keep the glass half full, not half empty.

Do some online dating. If you're never gonna work again, you have nothing but time to shop for a new girl. If you date a million girls, one or two will have to like you enough to overlook your issues.
