Not particularly. I'm afraid of pain, but lots of deaths are not painful, or only painful for a short time.

Most people who are afraid of death have a belief in an afterlife in which they will be judged, and punished if they don't measure up. Since it's very hard to be confident that you measure up when you don't really know what the rules are, and when the rules seem to be inhumanly restrictive, naturally such people get a little neurotic on the subject of dying. Imagine being afraid that you will be caught "with your pants down," either literally or metaphorically, by Death itself! What would Saint Peter say?

Yes, and no...I would be scared if I knew it were coming. Then I would have a chance to think about all of the things that I am going to miss out on. But, I think that death is harder on the people that you leave behind. So, I would say that I am more scared of losing a loved one.

No, I am not afraid of death. The sad fact of the matter is that too many people say, "I never want to get old and die." However, the truth of the matter is that death is all around us. Death is just as much apart of us as life is. We may die in 80 years...we may die in 80 seconds. It's something that, like it or not, you have to accept. Some people avoid it completely while others actively seek it. I think it all boils down to the individual.

Death does not scare me... Only the thought of those I leave behind...

Although I will not be a person who spends my living moments contemplating what death will be like.

No, because in May of 2005 I died from a stroke. I was resuscitated and now I am alive. Dying was a beautiful experience for me. I felt totally at peace and I felt I was a speck of dust floating in an eternal sea of sunlight.

I no longer fear death

I'm more scared of suffering, than death itself. In 1992, my son's father put me in a choke hold until I was gone...and I remember seeing people, groups of people...they all turned to look at me...when they turned away I came back. I didn't know who I was, couldn't feel my feet touch the floor, forgot I had my baby who was in my arms at the time. My son's father was slapping my face saying repeatedly 'please don't die.' I could hear the sound of him slapping me, but could not feel it. I saw his face, but did not know who he was, even with his tears falling onto my face. I felt...love for him...but did not understand why.
I had walked out of that room, towards the front door. I didn't know where I was. I kept looking at the front door, then back at him with this terrified look on his face. Suddenly it came back to me, I ran back to the room to find my child playing happily on the floor.
Anyways...he said my lips turned blue and I became cold...This story is in my blog...there is more to it...but
Death is part of life. If you are afraid of death, you're probably unconsciously afraid of living as well....

No, I'm not scared of death because I have faith that I'm going somewhere better after I die.

No. I want to live a long healthy life but I am not afraid to die. I am a born again Christian and I know there is a place waiting for me when I die. Jesus said, "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself ..." So, I have no reason to be afraid.

Because I want to live. Death is non-existence.
