Don't quote the Bible, the Qu'Ran, or any other scripture, I want to know why you, personally, hate atheists, what is so horribly wrong about us that makes us unworthy of anything except your hatred?
Also note that this question started with the phrase, "to whom it may apply", so if you're reading this and you DON'T hate atheists, then this does NOT apply to you.

I think the believers who hate the non-believers do so because those believers are very self-righteous and have a controlling type of personality, and the non-believers refuse to be "sucked in" by a belief system that doesn't make sense to them. Certainly not all believers - especially the ones who truly follow their religion - hate non-believers.

You say: "to whom it may apply", but I doubt you'll get any "I hate atheists because...." replies. This is what I truly hate, not atheists, but the disrespect that comes from *some* of them. Below is a sampling of questions by atheists I gathered from a quick search. In the first two, you will see atheists sarcastically posing as Christians in an effort to make them seem foolish and misrepresent them, and others calling them crazy, and just being plain insulting. I doubt there are many who have a problem with any respectful atheist.

I know it doesn't apply to me but I wanted to answer.
These people aren't true to their religion if they do, in fact, hate you. I always thought that Christians were taught to love all mankind no matter what his/her beleifs. These people do not matter. They are hypocrites.

Because when it says "Love thy Neighbor" in the Bible there is a footnote that says "Unless they are Women, Gay, Non-Christians, Liberal, Intelligent, Artistic, Empowered, Rational oh.... and pretty"
I never got this copy of the Bible though, I think you get it shortly after the lobotomy.

i dont know why some people hate us so much. it could be because they think we are demons straight from the depths of hell to tempt those god believers into disbelief. i personally dont care what you believe or disbelieve.
