See your doc first, and tell them what you've told us here on the site. Let doc know how long its been there...that's important.

There's nothing wrong w/ asking... Someone might say, "I have a purple spot next to a tooth I just got a silver filling...is this normal?"
and the answer is a very simple, "Yes, that's an amalgam tattoo...nothing to worry about."

In this case, if I had to guess I would say you have a "parulis" - this is a fistula or drainage that may result from an abcess. Sometimes they are painless. For a while.
The odds are that at some point it will start hurting and even if it doesn't you're making your body waste valuable immune resources on fighting it.

So see a dentist fairly soon and just get the wisdom tooth extracted.

good luck!

I would have it checked out. You could have something serious there and then again it could be nothing to be worried about. A Dr. or a Dentist is the ones to check not here on this forum. How can I tell when I cannot look at it??
