Shouldn't we then be forgiven for concluding that there is no God at all?

Does prayer work? Hundreds of millions prayed for God to stop Hitler before he killed 30+ million during WWII. Considering the success of their efforts, God is either powerless, heartless, both, or does not exist at all.

I've heard a couple of ideas on this, and it was all scriptural enough but if a reply doesn't come it doesn't come. That doesn't mean there's no God, but it sure can be disappointing to not get any answer at all.

So you may have to just start handling things yourself. God did, after all, give you a thinking brain and hopefully the arms & legs to take care of what needs to be done.

Just because you didn't get the answer you wanted in the timely fashion you desired, doesn't mean that God didn't answer you. The answer could be No. The answer could mean wait.....longer. Maybe God is trying to instill patience in your heart. Or listen to this:

There was a very poor man who had a family to feed and care for. He was very honorable and attended church on a regular basis, and worked an honest job. One night, he heard a noise in the barn and went in there to see that his one and only cow was sick and about to die. That very cow was to feed his entire family for that next year, and if it died, then his family would surely starve. He got on his knees and prayed to God that his cow not die and that he would give anything and do anything for God to spare his life. The next morning, the man got up to see that his cow had died in the night. The man cursed God and swore never to attend church with his family ever again. That evening as the man went to bury his cow, an angel visited him. The man stopped and looked at the angel and said that his presence was no longer necessary and asked him to leave. The angel turned to leave and then looked back and said to the man. "I am the angel of death. I visited your home last night and was sent to take your wife. But God asked that I take your cow instead because you are an honorable man of God."

You see? Sometimes your prayers are not always answered the way you want, but because of good reasons...you just might not know that reason yet.............Don't stop believing.

then we keep on waiting patiently and keep on praying, hoping for Gods mercy and help, as God listens to all prayers in the first go, God has always been and always will be sufficent for Gods bondsmen in the hours of trial. Have patience and let not those whohave no certainty make thee impatient. God will help and Bless. Insha Allah.

No, God gives us answers all the time. It's not that he isn't speaking. It is that you are not listening. If you don't have faith in him and don't accept Christ then how can you expect to hear him? He speaks to our hearts not to our minds. It takes lots of prayer and patience. You also have to understand that you may not get the answer you want. You want to talk about patience? Go find out how long the Israelites wandered around in the desert for. Better yet, find out how long they prayed for to be released out of Egypt, and then reconsider your definition of patience.

Sometimes we ask the wrong question or are not listening closely enough.
If you honestly ask of God and seek His answer it will come.
He might be trying to teach you some patience.
God exists.
Why are you worried about being forgiven by Him if you do not believe?
The answer to your question is no.

God may have already answered your prayer... the answer just might be "no", or it might be "wait". We cannot hold God accountable to our own standards as to time and judgement... God's judgement and timing are perfect, and do not include just you. Perhaps by answering YOUR prayer, he would let someone else down in theirs, did you think of that? And in His perfection, He doesn't do that.

Not at all. Maybe what you asked for what not in your best interest. Maybe it would have harmed or hurt you down the road.
Maybe you were testing God as if He were a magician-
Faith is the substance of things hoped for.
The evidence of things not seen.

Have you ever heard the song "Thank god for UN-answered prayers?" It is sooo true. In the past I have prayed for certain things to happen and when they didn't, I was disappointed but - surprise - something else happened that changed my life for the better. He is much wiser than we are.

Maybe, instead, you should conclude that he has something better in mind for you than what you are asking for. Remember, his thoughts are higher than man's and his ways are also higher. Learn more about him by reading and meditating on your Bible.
