Many of you may have seen a newborn baby. Christianity believes that they are already sinners. Why is this? Surely you have not yet sinned?

From a Mormon point of view, I do not believe in the concept of original sin. I believe that babies are born innocent, and the Atonement of Jesus Christ covers the minor infractions or sins little children may commit before the age of accountability. I think we are obviously all born with the second consequence of Adam and Eve's transgression - and that is mortality. We cannot overcome physical death on our own, either - we also need the Atonement of Jesus Christ for that.

Firstly I believe that life isn't fair.We get dealt a hand of cards which we have to play.
I think that if a child below a certain age dies then it goes to heaven-probably up to 9-12yrs. But if we do something wrong and we ask God for forgiveness and try and put our wrongs right then He will forgive us. We are all born with a sinful nature and there comes a time when we knowingly make choices. We can do the right thing or the wrong thing. Sometimes I make the wrong one selfishly and if I don't try and put it right my conscience pricks me. Whatever I do has consequences.

Catholics believe you are born in sin, thus the need for infant baptisms and infant baptisms at birth if the baby isn't doing well. Many Protestants don't. I don't believe I was born in sin, but rather it means I will be taste of death as part of the punishment for their sin. Sin was not possible until I learned good from evil or reached the age of accountability.

You are born in sin not born with it. A baby is not sinful or commit sin but they are born in sin and in a sinful world which will one day influence them to commit sin.

Great Controversy:
All humanity is now involved in a great controversy between Christ and Satan regarding the character of God, His law, and His sovereignty over the universe. This conflict originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-exaltation became Satan, God's adversary, and led into rebellion a portion of the angels. He introduced the spirit of rebellion into this world when he led Adam and Eve into sin. This human sin resulted in the distortion of the image of God in humanity, the disordering of the created world, and its eventual devastation at the time of the worldwide flood. Observed by the whole creation, this world became the arena of the universal conflict, out of which the God of love will ultimately be vindicated. To assist His people in this controversy, Christ sends the Holy Spirit and the loyal angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation. (Rev. 12:4-9; Isa. 14:12-14; Eze. 28:12-18; Gen. 3; Rom. 1:19-32; 5:12-21; 8:19-22; Gen. 6-8; 2 Peter 3:6; 1 Cor. 4:9; Heb. 1:14.)

Sin was passed to every human on earth through genetics. That is why God provided the sacrifice of Jesus' perfect human life to redeem us from sin--to make it all fair again. Now, it is up to each one of us to decide--do we love God and our neighbors or will we choose to remain separate from God and sinful?

Rom 3:23 This is about corporate sin, which means that because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve, we are guilty of the same disobedience as they, because they could not pass down to us what they themselves did not posses. Like if you do not posses the gene for tails then you can not pass that down to your decedents.
