If I was avoiding calories and fat but had to eat one of them, I would have the cake.
Pie crust is at least half fat. I have a book for this somewhere. BRB
bbp has 289 cal, 13g fat and 44carb grams
cc has 300 cal, 16g fat and 37 carb grams
If he's eating bb cheesecake type pie--that's a different story.
I've been looking at this book "The Most Complete Food Counter" and depending on brands and recipes these things vary greatly. They are equally bad and never good. Next time just take half a portion.

Ha, I hate to make you lose this argument, but chocolate cake has more fat and carbs than most blueberry pies. It really depends on the recipe though because I have seen a light chocolate cake with only like 3 grams of fat per serving... he is better for eating the bb pie but it is still bad for you, so instead of eating cake and pie, eat some healthier foods. And by the way, I hate pie...

Well, your body needs a certain amount of Calories just to function. (Anywhere from 1000-1500 a day for women, depending on age, weight, and muscle mass) so, of course you have to take those into account. So if you add that to all the activity you perform daily, and you are still taking in more, then yes, it gets stored as fat. Except for carbs, to a certain point they get stored as the sugar glycogen, but after a few, that goes strait to fat too.

Sorry Hun but chocloate cake has a lot more fat than blueberry pie especially with the icing. Although you are right when you say he's no better for eating blueberry pie. I don't recall blueberry pie being on a list of health foods

This would depend on the exact recipe and ingredients for each dessert, but for most that I've made I'm afraid your bf is probably right. If your chocolate cake doesn't have frosting, it might win on the fat part, but probably not on the sugar. Fruit pies also provide some fiber, which chocolate cake probably doesn't.

I'm with your boyfriend on this one, I don't see how the pie with at least some healthy ingredients can have more fat than a 100% chocolate snack! Sorry!
