Hi David C!!! I am an animal lover and I have raised Rottweillers, Daschunds, Labs, and now I have a Jack Russell Terrier. My dad has the Yorkshire Terrier and he faced the same problem. I don't know if it will work for you but here goes...........
My dad always (after a mess) took the pup by the back of the kneck (the part that doesn't hurt) and put thier noses to the mess they made and scolded them with a stern voice, then when they continued doing it he realized after watching the Dog Whisperer, that they weren't getting enough exercise and they were being dominant. He would sit at the kitchen table and make the dogs stay in there and he would put the mess in front of them, in this case it was the garbage. When the dog would try to look or move toward the garbage, he would tell them no. These exercises worked. My dads dog hasn't been in trouble for years. He also found some really great techniques on the dog whisperer's show. This guy is really smart. He has taught me some things too. You should catch his show and just watch. It is awesome how good exercise can keep your dogs attention off of things they aren't supposed to have.
As far as the poop and pee, after a certain time, you can not allow them food and water (before bed, a few hours before) During this time, take them out frequently (if needed). Every time your dog goes and does his/her business outside, reward them, eventually, they will get the idea. When they make poop or pee in the house I put thier nose to the mess (not in it!) and tell them Bad or No No! and immediately take them outside.
Most of all I recommend that you check out this guys show. You'll be amazed at what it can do for a pet owner and the pet!
You can start at this website. Just follow the links and check out his techniques. They really do work. My dog was house broken at 8 weeks, by using the techniques. I wish you much luck and happiness with your dogs.

Terriers nearly always **** in their own nest, put them outside! Bring in one at a time for some quality attention do some basic training go to obedience classes take them for long long walks but keep them out of your house or alternatively crate them at night but the above still aplies walk walk walk, train train train. You will have a better relationship with them and your kitchen "YUK" will be sweet.

I'm with Sheperd on this one. Training, exercise and crating.
Considering the dog's ages, this may take some time to resolve as you have let it go on for so long!

Get shut, dogs are dirty disgusting creatures, and they make your house smell. A friend of mine had 3 dogs, tried to put the house up for sale, and could'nt sell it. Estate agent said everyone that went to look at it said it stunk of dogs. And no-one wanted to know.

Kill the dogs, skin them, make three shoes. One pair and a spare. Problem solved.
