I'm a Christian. Jesus was probably not born on December 25, probably in the spring around Passover. The tradition of celebrating His birth on December 25th came when Christianity was spreading through Europe. The Catholic church decided to add a holiday 4 days after the winter solstice so those converting to Christianity could still have a winter celebration.
That being said, yes I celebrate my Savior's birth. Although I don't think it's the correct day on the calendar, it is the time we as Christians choose to celebrate His birth.
Lots of people in the secular world also celebrate Christmas, but they do not celebrate the meaning behind the holiday - they like the pretty trees and decorations, shopping, presents, Santa, etc. I'm okay with sharing my holiday with everyone - but in my heart I chose to celebrate the Lord.

Most Christians know that Jesus was not born on December 25th and because of that we do not celebrate this day. As close as can be figured, Jesus was born some time in October--probably around the 5th or 6th. Obviously, the Bible does not clearly state the day of his birth so that people will not celebrate it--but some do it anyway.

Aren't Catholics Christians too? They believe in The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. They believe Jesus died for our sins and will come again. I hope everyone just celebrates Christmas as a time of love, peace and giving. I think that's what Jesus would want.

I do celebrate Christmas.
However, it is probably not Jesus's exact birthday, as we have no way of knowing because of all the changes in the way we measure time that has passed since 0 AD. It is more of a symbolic thing, that whenever Christ's birthday is, we celebrate it on this day. That's why Jehovah's witnesses don't celebrate it: They'd rather play it safe than sorry.

Christ wasn't actually born on that day but it is when we celebrate his birth. The whole Christmas tree thing with the star and all......that really is a pagan tradition.
However I do enjoy the time off from work and I do get together with my family. We do recognize Christ as the reason for the season. And I particularly like the season because more ppl are open to being friendly and giving at this time than any other. (Though by listening to the media you would not always believe that)

Not anymore I don't. When I learned that Jesus was probably born sometime in October, and that Jews of his day didn't celebrate birthday's ANYHOW (and therefore why should WE celebrate his birthday if he didn't) I began to see holiday's for what they really are... money makers for business. I don't play into that anymore for any holiday. We do give gifts, but we do it at our own time, and most of our gifts are either homemade, or are of REAL value, like time. One of the best gifts I ever got from someone was a home-made coupon for 30 minutes a day from my youngest daughter. I could use her time for anything I needed it for... and it was wonderful! She lived up to her end of the bargain, and I got some extra help and extra hands when I needed them!

Christ was not born on December 25th as many would believe. The Bible does not say when the exact birth of Christ was.
On the other hand, numerous encyclopedias ( World Book, Britannica, etc) says that birthday celebrations are steeped w/ superstition.
So, my bible trained conscience do not allow me to celebrate Christmas, a superstitious belief.

I always do! In addition, I always keep in mind, what x-mas is about. But, this is my religious belief, which i respect, as well as respecting others. For instance, If I was Jewish, then my spiritual belief would be not to enjoy x-mas per the true meaning. Which, would be to honor my lord and savior, Jesus Christ. However, Christmas as a holiday, to enjoy, because I like giving to others :)

No, lots of other people celebrate it. Christmas is a Christian holiday, but it builds on pagan traditions (yule log, etc). Since it's so ingrained in our culture, even Atheists celebrate Christmas. Not because of Christ, but because it's the season to be jolly. It's good enough for me!
