Yes, he does. As a fictional character, he saves ZERO people from victimization as does god.

But, in the movies, Spidey makes a better protaganist and would probably be a better contender for a god.

We could call him 'Spideity'.

Ahem. They're BOTH fictional characters. (Why do we have to spell this out for them). And in the case of who's a better hero, spidey wins hands down.

Plus, I suspect he's a better kisser than god.
