I have a very small bathroom. It has no windows. There is only a sink (with no cabinet or storage underneath, just open and ugly), a toilet and a bathtub/shower. I can't really put anything perm. on the walls. The walls are bright white and their is only really one wall about 4 feet wide that could be decorated since the other walls are taken up by the door, bath, toilet and sink. The floor is grey and white, everything else is just white. I have a small medicine cabinet with the little sliding mirror doors. The door is normal, boring, ugly brown wood. Please help:( Color schemes, storage, etc....

You could create storage under the sink by making a skirt that goes around the sink. http://ww4.bhg.com/bhg/story.jhtml?storyid=/templatedata/bhg/story/data/13356.xml

You could create your color scheme with the skirt and the shower curtain, then accessorize in that scheme.

A nice framed print on the wall reflecting the colors would be nice as well; you don't want a lot of clutter, which would make the bathroom seem smaller. If the print is something with depth, i.e. an outdoor scene, it would give you sense of light and less claustrophobia.

Here's some more good ideas:

Hi There, A small bathroom is a challenge but you can do some things to personalize it and turn it into a cool space just for you. Craig's list and Kijiji are great places to get free stuff. You might find a shelf or small table that you can paint to match your new bathroom. This is also the time of year when there are garage sales every weekend. There might be some treasure just around the corner that would fit perfectly. Also, if it's ok with your parents, check around the house to see if there is something you can use in the bathroom that you might not have thought about for that space. If there's not room to store your bathroom stuff in there try to find a small basket or some kind of container that you can keep in your room and bring with you with to the bathroom - stuff for your hair, lotion etc. That may sound like a bit of a pain but it's what I did when I had a very small bathroom and it really worked out fine. It was nice to know that if friends came over unexpectedly that they weren't going to see my things all around the sink. Another idea would be to see if there's something at home that you can hang on the back of the door to keep things in. This may sound odd, but there are hang on the back of the closet shoe organizers that would give you plenty of storage space. Make sure to look around your bedroom for things that might work in the bathroom to personalize it, like pictures or maybe a small vase with flowers. If your parents don't want holes in the walls there are now hangers that stick on and can be taken off if need be, but are strong enough to hold pictures. The biggest thing to remember in a small bathroom is to keep it uncluttered. If you can't find everything you need right now don't worry about it. It's a work in progress and you'll find stuff you want to put in there in the most unlikely places. Have fun!

do you own? or renting? if you own, id suggest putting in a pedestal sink. they are cheap, dont take much room and would add a lot of character to the space. put cube shelving high up on the wall above the mirror and toilet and put artificial plants in them that cascade down. dont overdo color or clutter in a small space, it will make it seem even smaller. for the wall decoration, id suggest a collection (say 3 or 4 ) of framed sea shells. you can use real shells with a simple frame. attach the shells to the wall then attach the frame over it. no need for backing or for glass. keep the colors simple and limit yourself to two or three only. classic black and white would work great. you could even install the cheap and easy self stick floor tiles in a black and white checkerboard pattern. white porcelain knobs and faucets. clean and simple. crown moulding for a room that size would cost minimal but would have a huge impact--keep it the same color as the walls in a space that small. use a burst of color in the towels--make them white with a stripe of something vibrant. dont go overboard. you could add a simple white or black wooden frame around the med. chest. id paint the door white and put a couple of chrome and porcelain robe hooks on it.

The success of any decorating scheme depends on how well it suits all the members of your family. You can start by looking through magazines, and display catalogs.
