If they do will the torture be physical, mental, or both?

Will they be there forever?

lol - no they will not. When a human dies their essence returns to the spirit existence. If they are consumed with guilt and other emotion tied to the physical they will linger on earth in their own private hell, until they can see (just as everyone else will) the way home. That's my opinion and I welcome yours.

Peace!

All sins can be forgiven, that is why Christ died on the cross for our sins. We have to repent, ask for forgivness, and walk in the word.

Those who do not repent will travel a different path. I think Hell will be worse than anything that has ever been seen, or imagined.

Heaven will be good, better than anything ever seen or imagined.

Hell is eternal fire, and damnation. And yes, eternal is forever.

God Bless

No divorcees won't actually go to Hell, they will go to purgatory for a short time. You mention torture; it will be more like reprimand rather than torture. Why do you ask? Are you afraid?

Since I, having repented after divorce, can only answer for myself, I studied carefully the Bible verses in context from old and new covenants with the help of Bible study helps. The woman Jesus met at the well who had five husbands and none of them were hers but Jesus told her go and sin no more. She was forgiven for adultery and remained single from then on if she obeyed Christ's command to "sin no more". I've had one husband and scriptures tell me to remain apart or be reconciled. I hope for those of my friends who feel they can remarry after divorce for the cause of fornication that they will be alright come judgment but I do not know for sure. Churches have spit over such issues. I choose to be on the safe side and allow Jesus to be all I need. I can assure you He has! One question I have for folks is in whatever scenario does it become adultery in Biblical terms?? Was Liz Taylor ever in adultery? If so, when?

We only know what the word of God tells us in the Bible. It tell us Old testament laws, we do not live under the law, but under the grace of God who forgives all who believe in the Son of God; because Jesus shed His blood to redeem us from our sins and God see's us now as righteous through Jesus. A person divorces for many reasons and Jesus gave us no commandment to stay with abusive or cheating mates, no clear directions are there, but "not to leave because of unbelief, but rather let the one be encouraged by the GOOD conversation of the other". I don't believe God will torture anyone. Death in unbelief will result in eternal separation from God.

Don't know.

It's possible Jesus would hold a different point of view today.

In the old days a woman was NOTHING without a man.

Today, as long as she has a supply of AA batteries she's perfectly fine!

They will go to the same place everyone else goes because there is no such thing as hell, unless you count being "here". Godloveya.

In that case I would be going twice. How do you work that one out. I am not worrying myself to be honest cos H.E.L.L. don't exist! The only HELL that does exist is the one we are living in.

I don't know, but divorce and contempt for the wedding vows that people make is disgraceful and has reached epidemic proportions.
