It does not celebrate the slaughter of innocent Native Americans - it celebrates thankfulness that the Pilgrims made it through a really tough year. They were friendly with the Native Americans at that time. It was later that Indian lands were taken and the Indians killed - a very dark part of American history. However, now is now - we can't live in the past - just learn from it. I will eat my turkey and be thankful to God for the blessings He has given me this last year.

I am continually amazed by the various groups or individuals that creep up to protest everything. Look the sixties is long gone and
all the Indian wars happened too many years ago for those of us in the twenty first century to get too worked up about.
If you want to protest something how about our fine service people that are dying in Iraq for Democracy that they did not ask for.
Protest about fy2007 U.S. budget that has 70 billion dollars budgeted for R&D for the Department of Defense and yet we have people going hungry in this great nation. We have people from Katrina still living in trailers but there is plenty of money for Research of weapons.
Sorry cannot get worked up about old history.

Whatever.
Lots of religions celebrate some sort of "thanksgiving feast" at the end of the harvest season. American Thanksgiving Day doesn't belong only to Christians. It isn't specified in our religion as one day, but as every day!
Nobody but some weirdo would celebrate the bloody murder of an entire ethnic group. That isn't what today is about, anyway, and YOU KNOW IT.

In your case, you don't find the need to thank for anything because you don't believe in the Creator. So I don't see why many will thank you either.
Ex: Why would anybody thank for the products and services if they don't respect the manufacturer.
Thanksgiving, is being humble and thankful, because if you forgot we humans are weak and mortal. Life will go on with or without you.
Try being thankful for the air you breathe, for the opportunities you have to make this world a better place. Then you see how happy you will sound!

Mankind will never evolve thanks to fanatical extremists who cling to past historical mistakes and regurgitate them with impunity to the rest of society.
Blaming Americans today for what happened hundreds of years ago is not only redundant, it's completely retarded. You might as well phone someone in Germany randomly and condemn them for the atrocities of WW 2.
Have you done anything useful or positive to aid in the plight of the American Indian? Honestly, this kind of ranting and spewing helps no one.

Sorry to see you are such an angry person.
The Indians are taking billions from the US citizen today through gambling and the sale of tobacco. Both of which cause death and torment.
Get a life.

God is love. He is our Father, and your Father. Like it or not. You are a very angry man, and not very well educated, even though you say you went to Oxford. Just remember every knee will bow, that includes You. Hope the rest of Your day goes better, and that Your anger does not cause You to have an aneurysm.

Wow, you know nothing do you? I mean, have you paid attention in Elementary school? It's about the Pilgrims surviving the first year, not about the "Slaughter of Indians".

Sorry....I missed something. Oh...I was e-mailing Father Takes War Bonnet in Kyle, South Dakota, where we feed the hungry Lakota and pay for their propane for the winter....and just bought him a new car to replace the old one...
What were you saying?
