I have a Jeep Cherokee Larado and it happened to me once. It is either a fuse in the compartment where your drivers door opens or it is a wire that came loose under the floor dash where you put your feet when you are driving.

If it's anything like the gauge cluster problem that the earlier TJs have, thumping the top of the dash is a temporary fix, but the long-term solution includes taking the dash apart and re-seating the connection.

Check for fuses first - it's a lot easier! :)

Chances are a fuse has blown, and it powered all of the "instuments".

Maybe it just blew and you can put a new one in ($1.00)
It is more likely that something failed causing the fuse to blow.

I suggest buying a Chiltons manual at your local auto store. ($10.00)

1. follow the schematics, fix the problem.
2. learn to do #1.
3. Pay someone to do #1.

Its a fuse issue. Replace the fuze with one of the same size, but you may have to get the fuze from the dealership because Jeep uses really small fuzes.

There is a voltage regulator that is installed on the instrument cluster on those models that often can cause all the gages to malfunction, if you take it in for service they should check that first off from your description. Good luck.

this sounds like it could be just a fuse if its not a fuse there is a good chance that its a ground out wire or loose wire
