What's the difference between getting a camcord with MiniDV and one with DVD?

Ideally, I'd like to be able to record what I do and watch it on my DVD player with good quality and be able to upload on my computer.


P.S, I have no DVD player/burner on my computer.

MiniDV is a tape format and the DVD is a DVD format, the latest formats are the Hard drive formats. You record directly on to a a30GB or 40 GB internal hard drive in your camcorder. You can view it on the PC, TV and dowload it to your computers hard drive. Prices start at around US$600. I just bought the high end Sony HDR-SR1. Try camcorderinfo.com for more help
