You have over stretched the muscle Carrie and it will heal in a week or two. Try rubbing in some Arnica Cream, available from Health shops.

It is either skin, muscle, or bone.
Sounds like it is muscle.
This would rule out arthritis.
If the injury was not from a blow to the cheek, Then maybe it is from the way you sit or sleep.
Have you lost some weight recently ?
Maybe you sat in a wet bathing suite too long and this spot cooled off too much.
Somehow the muscle nerves are in a knot.
Constricted.
Get a heating pad.
This will dilate the nerves and blood vessels.
Use it until the pain is gone.

I cured my sciatica with this natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

It sounds like you may be suffering from Sciatica. I have the same problem and needed Physio. The Sciatic nerve is one of the largest nerves in the body, running from the hip and down into the leg. Sometimes the buttock can feel tingly or have a burning sensation. Pretty painful whatever way.

Hi there !
The chances are that :
1. Blunt injury and hence muscuular pain !
2. In case you had taken any injections recently on the
area, injection abscess !
3. Recently you have started exercising ..that too
vigorously !
No other "major causes" can be thought about
involving the area !
If pain is intolerable , take some analgesic and wait..
it still no relief, consult your family doctor !
Best wishes

That is horrible to hear :( Yes! You should get tested. I am not a doctor, I dont know anything about bone cancer, but if you are worried, you need to get checked. ASAP! Have the doctors looked into epilepsy at all? I honestly really wish I had something helpful to say. I can understand you would be completely exhausted by all this.just keep going to the doctors

It might be your periformus muscle (not sure of spelling)..if it is a deep, throbbing pain. Some people call it "runners butt" as it is a strain that is commons to runners. There are certain stretches that you can do to relieve the tight feeling and exercises to strengthen the muscle. Check with someone with PT or sports medicine experience.

Hmm... try using arnica gel. It helps reduce inflammation. If it still hurts in another week see a doctor. It is probably just some kind of deep bruise or a damaged muscle but if you don't get better it might be something bad.
