Ok this might sound stupid. I dont live in a religious country, but I have just been talking to some Americans on another forum and the subject of religion came up. I couldnt believe what they told me, I still think they might be joking.
Do some people really believe in the Adam and Eve story and not evolution?

I'm sorry if that sounds daft or offensive but never have I ever heard of someone not thinking evolution is real let along believing something that gets taught as the 'Creation STORY' (or in this country it does anyway). Were they serious, sorry I'm jibbering but I'm kinda shocked, I'm in my 20's and have always assumed that evolution is real, theres proof of it isnt there?

Yes, it's crazy but it's true. Most christians believe the Adam and Eve story over that of evolution. It just goes to show how religion can warp the brain. People are willing to believe some story written in a book by men that they never knew, based on absolutely nothing. I was born in a catholic family and was taught the Adam and Eve story, but as soon as I learned about evolution, I felt it was far better than some derranged story cooked up by some false prophets. I am a Satanist now, and even though I believe in Satan as a god, I still believe in evolution.

No My friend you have been a victim of a massive deception evolution is a theory a farce a gigantic hoax with not one shred of proof to it some people over the last decade or two tried to construct another hoax on the scientific community but with the advances in C-14 and raceamination and Genetics and Molecular Biology it was quickly proven to be a fraud whereas the Account of Adam and Eve has proven to be true using genetic fingerprinting they have traced the genetic signature back to 2 people a man and a woman no apes or other nonsense ie when a person denies that is his chilkd a simple DNA test will confirm that it either is or isnt his child sort of like fingerprints no two people have the same exact Genome hope this helps you see the truth clearer Gorbalizer

Amazingly it's true and I know the feeling of utter bewilderment when Christians state in all seriousness that the world is only 6000 years old or that Noah really did build an ark to hold all the world's species. I just shake my head in disbelief. Ignore people who say you need to educate yourself about creationism-it's a bag of crap that shouldn't even be in existence in this day and age. Not one of the individuals above who glibly state evolution isn't real could defend their opinion in an open debate.

Well not all scientist believe in evolution. With anything you need to research all possibilities. You were raised to believe one thing, so it is understandable that any other belief sounds strange or foreign to you. This is where you need to educate yourself and do you own home work. This is also the same w/choosing a religion, many believe in a triune God; they can't reason on it, they will attempt to use the bible to do so, but it is clearly not scriptural-wow now i am sounding like them, but I did do my home work. And this would likewise benefit you. You need to draw you OWN conclusions. Don't let anyone dictate what you should or should not believe.

Many fundamentalist Christians believe in the story of creation. They don't understand that what allegory is and how the story of creation fits into this particular genre. You have to understand that these people have been inundated with these values since birth and it is very difficult to change this zealot attitude. In my opinion if a person has a belief system and it doesn't interfere with others than live and let live. Unfortunately this doesn't always occur and that is where we have violence and injustice.

Yes, people actually believe that story. I guess it's probably easier than doing real research on the subject of evolution.

No, and evolution is not real, the Bible is real and God is real... What ever you have been told has been lies, and those lies came from the very real Master of desevers Satan himself... Please go find a Bible and read it, the truth does not lie... There is nothing in the Bible that can be proven to be untrue, and there has been many things that have been found and many promises from God that have already came true... Seek and you shall find that is what the Bible says... feel free to email me with any questions that you may have.. There will be a judgement day when we all will have to answer to God, that day is coming... Don't be one that burns in the bottomless pit of the lake of fire and brimstone...
