Mainly because:
1. Islam originated in the Arabian Penninsula (Mecca)
2. Arabs were the main upholders and spreaders of Islam until the Ottoman empire reigned over the region (between 1299 and 1922). This was the first time that non-Arabs (Turks in this case) were controlling the brithplace of Islam.
3. Because most people aren't clear on the definition of "Arab". This leaves most people thinking that Iranians, Pakistanis, and Turks are Arabs, when they don't even speak Arabic.
Fast fact: Only 20% of the worlds Muslims are Arab.

Many people think that Arab means you are Muslim, because I think that the majority of Arabs are Muslims.
Many people think that Islam means you are Arab. Well, thinking of the 1st answer above, I would say that people think that because since majority of Arabs are Muslims, then there is a good chance that a Muslim could be an Arab person.
My answer was based on how I think that people think :)

There is muslims around the world who arenot arabic,from usa ,france , etc....,the quran used to be arabic as quran is an arabic book but now there is copy in english and for each country with it's language with the meaning of each word

While some may generalize, most do not. I know that not all people in the Middle East are muslim and that not all muslims are from the Middle East, so what is your problem. Are you a muslim trying to stir up trouble? Kind of seems like it.

People are narrow minded thats why they think this way and its just like "you did 9/11 and all Muslims are potential terrorists" point of view.

People seem to like to put certain cultures/religious groups into specific categories. It does not even matter if it makes any sense sometimes.

well.I'm a Muslim girl but these are different kind of minds my age is 12 and i still don't understand these things but i know that you have to believe in your self and be confident
