I have two staffie's 1X male 1X female, the male has a text book appearance, but the female looks very thin- the vets say that she's ok and in good health- can anyone relate to this or provide advice on what I can do to build her up?
I feed both dogs the same food (Bakers complete) + same portions
they both get the same amount of exercise.
your advice is greatly appreciated

Speaking through experience. I have also 2 staffies, i have father and son. I did once have the mother but had to get rid of her because my male wouldnt leave her alone. The ***** was always skinnier even though like you the diet and exercise was the same. The bitches do tend to be thinner and sometimes they dont appear to be like the dogs in build at all.If your vet says shes in perfect health then im sure you are looking after her well and doing everything right by her. Hope all goes well but im sure you dont have nothing at all to worry about. xx

i have a 1yr old staffy girl she lovely but is such a fussy eater!!! she can go for days with ot eating her food then she will have a week of non stop eating, other people say she big built but i dont think so she is just normal looking not too muscly not to thin.

i no this dont help u but the more u worry about ur staffy the more she will pick up on it, but maybe feed her b4 the male and c, she might want to pick it slowly

try worming them both for a start.
then try a different food. bakers is not the best food out there for your dogs. I built my rescue staffy up on "james well beloved" because its hypo allergenic and all natrual. you'll need to change for a good couple of months to see if there is a difference.
Also, have they been neutered? she might be using up calories there. My spayed bit-ch can put on weight easy!!
hope this is usful

As long as shes got a nice coverage i wouldn't worry males tend to be bigger anyway.....

Bakers isn't a food i would feed it would be cheaper and more efficient to feed a good quality basic mixer (such as winalot) with raw tripe (all pets stores have freezers with packs of tripe) which u will find much cheaper and more beneficial...

Hi,
I would recommend changing food,Baker's complete is not a good food,it is full of additives and colourings.
I own two staffords,a dog and b*tch,i feed mine on Burns complete, have done since they were both pups and have done extremely well on it.'ve posted a link for you,i think you can request samples.

why are you worrying if the vet says shes ok, shes just a different build, perhaps she'll fill out as she gets older
