is it harmful to the bow and string to leave a crossbow ****** for long periods?

It actually depends on what the bow is made of. If it's wood, then yes, you need to de-string it between uses. If it's made of composit materials or metal, then no, they are made to be kept strung. They will not loose any memory (cast) in the limbs and will shoot just fine.

Yes,it causes some degree of fatigue to the tensioners,whatever they may be.It will not only lengthen the strings,but put "memory" into the bow mechanism.Bad idea.You'll lose alot of power and velocity over time.

Yes it sure is.I wouldn't leave it ****** for more than an hour.

If you're going to store it for a while let down the draw weight or unstring it.

yes it will weaken the string and you will get less kinetic power, and accuracy plus your bow will not last very long
