Exactly my friend....Exactly....Sadly Christians will never understand full what they are talking about....they can easily write off any other story ever written about Gods or things like that...but when it comes to what they believe it has to be real and true! Mucho props to you!

The purpose of sending His son, Jesus, was symbolic. He does things in a way we'll understand, in ways we'll take to heart. He created us a certain way and He knows how to communicate with us. If He sent a goat, it'd have had little impact on our hearts. As a human in body, we see what could have been us. He doesn't just snap His fingers and make it all better because it'll breed us selfish and more sinful. He has given us an amount of control over ourselves for a reason, and so He'll fix things in a way that won't involve revoking His gifts. Instead, we get a lesson straight from Heaven.
Of course, that's all assuming you'll believe in Him in the first place. You'll notice a lot of the Bible is symbolic. Jesus's stories are full of symbolism. He works in ways we can connect to ourselves, rather than something more farfetched like your goat theory. Notice how much trouble people have accepting the Bible and God even with such a close symbolism to it. Most current Christians, I'd bet, wouldn't be so if it were a goat rather than the human body of the Son who died for our sins. Who would want to say that we mean so little that a goat could save us? You know that's what people would think.

Exactly. In those days, people were well acquainted with violent death. Crucifixion was the current favorite for slow death, so you can imagine the mindset of those that penned the Bible. The violence contained in the Bible was pretty much the norm of those days, it was no big deal to write about armies hacking up babies in some Bible story. Usually because God "told" them to go forth and smite the Hapless-ites or whatever tribe had fallen into His disfavor. An infinite being that somehow still hasn't been able to learn to control His temper after having an infinite time to ponder violence. Armed with infinite wisdom. Truly, it is insane, but not on the part of the creator, just on the part of the creators of the creator.

First off,
Hebrews 10:4 NIV
because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
But also, it was an act of love! Would snapping His fingers and saying, "You can be forgiven now" be as loving as essentially saying, "Hey look! I love you so much, I'm going to send my only begotten Son to die--for YOU! I do this because I am loving, and I want to show you my love with this act." Christ Jesus came because He loves us, and wants to show us that love. He wants us to come to Him out of love and repentance!
John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Happy Thanksgiving, and God bless!
As to your notes: I don't see any problem with us being descendents of Adam, even with the flood happening. Noah was a descendent of Adam, and Noah had on board his family, and his sons wives. What is the problem? As for the thing about having faith in the right things, you are right about that part. If I said, "I believe I can fly", what's going to happen when I jump off a 10-story building unassisted? It doesn't matter what someone believes in unless they believe in the truth. So, one might ask, as Pilate did,
John 18:38
"What is truth?"... NIV
However, don't fail to look at what Jesus said.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am...the truth..."
So, obviously, what do you put your faith in? If one should put their faith in the truth, and Jesus is the truth, then one should put their faith in Christ Jesus!

I really believe my words will be lost on you you are thinking of God as some kindly old grandfather that lives in the clouds. God by His nature is perfect in all His ways. This means Mercy and justice. All sin violates His justice demands blood and death to pay the consequences. Because of the eternal consequences the sacrifice must be eternal as well. Only God Himself could offer such a sacrifice. That is why Jesus had to be the one only He could qualify, His is the only man who is eternal. Just snapping His fingers would violate His nature. His way was the only way to hold true to His all of what make God God.... Jim

Romans 8:32 "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?"
God gave up what he loved most so that we would come to love him. If he gave up a goat, it wouldn't have been that much of a sacrifice, would it?
Say that you, a person, gave up your own child for someone else's life. What level of love must exist for you to sacrifice your own child so that another may live?
And then God--who is so much higher than we--gave up his own child so that you may live. And this is illogical to you? Love oftentimes makes no logical sense. This is because the heart is a different matter than the head.
God didn't snap his fingers and fix everything because then he would have blindly obedient robots, instead of people with free will. He could have snapped his fingers and made us robots. Would you prefer to be a robot? Or would you prefer to have access to the full scope of human experience? The full scope of experience is God's gift to you. So is his gift of his Son--so that when you look into all corners and find that the things of this world do not satisfy you, you may come to love the one who came to this world, died at its hand, and rose back to life.

Adam was a perfect man so only another perfect man would have evened the scale. A goat would not have brought balance. And if God had just snapped his fingers and started over then none of us would be alive today. We're all decendants of Adam.

You either "get it" or you don't. A superficial or casual knowledge of scripture without prayer and sincere intent will only get you to the level you are currently at. The wisdom of God is foolishness to men, to paraphrase some passages in the Bible. Acceptance comes first, then the understanding. You haven't yet taken the first step, or leap, of faith.

Because what you suggest he could have done is only about his Mercy. He is also just. We die because we sin and the reward or punishment for sin is death. The only way he could accomplish this being that he is God and sinless is to marry his Church. He already has said that in the Sacrament of marriage the two shall become one flesh. So he dies because we die and then we rise because he rises. Death is left dead

The point is that anyone who does God's work is persecuted for it. Jesus and other Prophets died for us just because they fought for peace. I believe that God is caring, kind, and understanding. Our sins will be forgiven if we sincerely repent. Our souls are changed by sin so we must choose the right path that will save our souls.
