You see all these websites and shows talking about natural cures and ways to detox the body. One theory i read somewhere was that depression can be cause or made worse by the overgrowth of yeast in the body(e.g. GI tract) and the toxins/irritants they produce. Is this all a bunch of b.s.?

Yes, my mother has severe candida infection and has bipolar disorder, part of which is depression (the low times).

Candida waste products can travel to the brain and interfere with normal brain chemicals and their transfer and may even block the receptor sites on brain cells so that they aren't able to receive necessary neurotransmitters like Dopamine or Serotonin, which can cause mental illnesses like depression.

There is no relationship between Candida and depression other than having cadidiasis/being embarrassed at having it/feeling shame for having it may cause a situational (temporary) depression in some susceptible people.

It makes sense to me. Candida is a result of inbalance in your body, depression can be too. Candida is also very unpleasant and is likely to increase depression

Yes this is true. Candida can make you feel very depressed. It happens to me. Candida is a ***** to get rid of . You basically have to make a lifesytle change...watch what you eat, i.e. limit sugar, bread products, alcohol and avoid stress.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment
