That's just what I read on another question and answer...if so, is this because Evangelical Christians don't ever allow themselves to get to know these two groups personally? Because I haven't found gays and atheists to be as groups, bad people.

Evangelicals hate anyone who does not conform to their way of thinking. They are akin to any extremist group such as the Taliban or Al-Quaida, these groups want the world to conform to their way as well. Although Evangelicals are not usually violent they do often advocate it, especially against homosexuals. I have been a victim of their hate first hand (I was shot while coming out of a gay bar in Atlanta). The shooter was later found to be an evangelical who professed that the Bible allowed him to kill. Such twisted evil, and let's be clear Evangelicals are evil, cannot be stopped with kindness, sadly they need to be rooted out and shown for the vile creatures they are.

Note: I do not consider Christians to be bad but Evangelicals are a different matter.

They sure make it look that way. Sad really, it makes other people treat the Evangelicals the same way they treat those people. And it's hard to feel sorry for them when Non-Christians call for Christianity, as a whole, to tone down their public image or have it removed. Though, Christians as a whole, are not like the Evangelicals... they do stand up for them thinking that all Non's are out to get all Christians. This isn't the case and hopefully the other Christians will come to understand that.

Personally I view some of these Evangelicals to be just as terroristic as what we see in the Media of certain Muslims. They use threats of hell to try to sway people and then claim it is out of Love of their God they do it. It's hard to separate Evangelicals from the rest of Christianity when it comes to things like this.

As an atheist I don't think I like the idea of being 'grouped' along with gays!
Christians of course will tell you they 'hate' no one, they love all mankind and continually pray for them etc etc (yawn).
I think most gays would want the blessings of the church, most atheists would probably just laugh at the idea, we have nothing at all in common, and now I come to think of it I don't think gays would much like the idea of being 'grouped' with atheists.
I cant see any useful purpose bein served by me 'getting to know' any group of any religion what would we chat about?
So if this is an appeal for unity between gays, atheists and religious folk, count me out, I can just imagine the outcome.

Evangelical Christians are humans just as atheist and gays, meaning they themselves are not perfect, they shouldn't hate any one regardless of what ever a person chooses to do with their life. Remember this always: God said COME TO ME AS YOU ARE.
God loves you just the way you are, any cleansing God feels he needs to do in us he will do. Many religious followers get it twisted and forget their place. God is the one and only who can Judge us for who we are but loves us, even with our flaws, even when we turn our heads from him, his love is still their faithfully.

Ohhh,,but we embrace the Atheist's and Homosexuals with Love, Christ was Scorged, beaten, spit upon and nailed to a cross, even after that He said "father forgive them, for they know not what they do"

can we do less.?
Jesus was seen by the disciples speaking to sinners and whores and the like and His disciples asked him why is he spending time with the likes of those,,His reply was that the healthy have no need of a doctor

No. I am an EC. I have friends who have alternative lifestyles. Atheists have a choice...I don't make any choices for them, except what to take to their house for a potluck.

The norm, here, is to hate all that differ from you. So, don't take the opinion serious...they are just frustrated and probably under the age of 14yo.

Exactly.

As far as gays go, it is mainly due to fear of what they don't understand and prejudice. Some simply refuse to step back and really understand them.

ADDED: To those Christians who say they don't hate gays.
If that is true, then explain these things:
Why are they ostracized from church?
Why are they flamed and treated like crap?
Why are they killed just for being gay?
All these things done by so-called Christians.

Read your New Testament and you'll see these things are against Jesus' teachings.

Well it depends on what people define as bad. If they think that homosexuality as such was a terrible sin, they will consider homosexuals as bad people, also if they don't find anything else in them that could make them hate them. If they think that God judges people primarily by their belief in him, they will think atheists were bad people, because they think not to believe in God is something horrible and also a great sin.

1) I know many Evangelicals and none of them "spread hate." 2) Your post seems to ooze hate. Indeed, it sounds like hate Christians -- otherwise you wouldn't make absurd statements about them. Bigotry -- whether Nazis speaking of Jews or some Shiites speaking of Sunnis [and vice versa] -- usually starts with a straw man argument and progresses to reasons why it is OK to hate a particular group (because their actions warrant our hatred). 3) You also seem to shift between "Evangelicals" and "Christians" as if they are synonyms. (Surely you know that they are not.) 4) I can't make sense of the "as well as scientists" statement. I know a number of scientists who are Evangelical. Sounds like more generalized bigotry. As to "Why are they allowed......." Are you advocating some kind of thought police? Or restrictions on freedom of speech? If you ARE in favor of restrictions on speech, would the rules apply to you as well such that your hate filled rant would leave you vulnerable to prosecution as well? Surely any laws about hate would have to extend equally and fairly in all directions. Of course, your claim that only in the Apostle Paul's "stories" is there any mention of Jesus. Could you possibly be so unaware to not realize that even the Bible itself speaks of Jesus outside of the Apostle Paul's epistles. And even if you don't believe the Josephus account of Jesus is authentic, how do you dismiss the many others? As to "Nobody hates Christians or spreads hate for them", are you total ignorant of the previous century of world history? (Not so long ago there was a place called the U.S.S.R. There was also Albania.....just to name a very few.) In fact, all I have to do is enter some keywords into searches on Yahoo Answers and one can find a lot of people who say they hate Christians. So are you being facetious? Anyway, I would be curious as to how your thought police and legalized discrimination/bigotry laws would work -- especially since there is equal protection under the law and you would have a hard time avoiding court challenges to your attempt to codify your personal bigotry. If you truly believe that bigotry against particular groups is a major problems, adding more bigotry to the mix hardly seems like a constructive solution. You sound like a very unhappy person. Did you have a bad experience with someone who claimed to be an Evangelical? I have a neighbor who hates Native Americans because of one incident that happened to him about 30 years ago such that he still rants that "All Native Americans are ungrateful and rude." Many have observed that hatred usually involves ignorance. I don't know if you actually KNOW any Evangelicals -- it sounds doubtful -- but that might be a good place to start. If nothing else, you might learn to avoid overgeneralization about "all" and "every."
