Yes i did that last year.... if you flip it back an forth however its fine, but my first year cookin was last year and i did put it upside down... wondered why there was no meat LOL
anyways, what i did was took what i could off of the bottom *was a huge turkey so was enough to eat from* then for leftovers i flipped the turkey over and cooked it the right way. Hope this helps

I tried that a few years ago but the turkey dropped on my head when I tried putting it in the oven with my feet. Ouch!!! I never do that again........lol
