... who consistently come to yaho R&S, telling people to get out because they are speaking of items that relate to R&S?
Is hate their religion?
Yea, I know that there are alot of people who like to light m-80's and throw them in mailboxes....but, there should be some type of instant reaction.
No reliance on monitors...how about an hour ban if over 7 thumbs down received.
Is this ok to do, they can have their say when they come back, after their 'time-out'.???

Oh, they don't really affect me. I really wanted to put forth the so many thumbs down rule and yer out for 1 hour. No moderator. Which confuse me. I got 2 violations yesterday for something I said about what is a violation....weird

Yea...creating that state would prohibit freedom of speech. Only an owner can make the rules and enforce them.

So...Happy Thanksgiving...eat turkey (or Tofurkey) have a nap and enjoy the day... :-)

While I abhor some of the abusive language that we see here, I don't think that enforcing anything like what you suggest would work.

I'm sure that you've noticed that replies to simple questions like "What religion do you practice" get thumbs up or down, which is utterly ridiculous.

Those questions are not a religion popularity contest, but that's how they are treated.

And if seven thumbs-down resulted in temporary suspension, I would bet dollars against donut holes that this would be used to gang up on people who express unpopular beliefs (even if done politely) as a way to shut them down. And then, of course, revenge, and then escalation.

I don't have a solution, and my opinion on this is not popular - my thought is that one should not be able to file an abuse report on a question or answer unless one identifies themselves; in other words, that there would be an *automatic* inclusion of the filer's screen Id/name or the abuse report wouldn't process; this would generate an automatic "reply" to the appropriate question, with the filer'[s information and that stated reason for filing the abuse report.

I'm aware that this could start "report wars', and I've already had one childish person do that to me because I won't report people anonymously - I posted that I was reporting him/her/it..

But the other way of doing this (in anonymity) is, IMO, both cowardly and too liable to unfounded reporting just because someone wants to shut someone else down or from some other petty motivation.

Because misery loves company. They're trying to find a community of people who think like they do and make their best attempts to drag others down with them. Just keep on keepin' on and keep a positive attitude and these people won't affect you (unless you allow them to).

That idea is so ridiculous it could spawn a new political ideology. I can see it now: "Democratic Fascism- Unjust censorship... by popular consensus"
